Over the past few years Epoxy resins have been increasingly used
for the upgrading and repair of structural timbers including floor
stiffening, repair of decayed beam ends, staircase repair/strengthening
and joint stabilisation.
Epoxy resin repairs are recognised for the ease at which they cure,
their outstanding adhesive properties and their high mechanical strength
combined with their resistance to chemical attack. In addition to
these they are also waterproof and are impervious to rot.

The use of Epoxy resin for repairs can speed up the restoration process
and so cut costs due to the reduced handling costs involved - the
Epoxy resin being only 5-10% the weight of traditional steel bolt
on fixing plates.

In most cases, the use of Epoxy resin repairs eliminates the need
for alterations to the external appearance of the timbers and thus
from an aesthetic point of view this method proves to be very popular.
